[Animation Concepts Course, Batch 1] All Wrapped Up!

The first batch of our Animation Concepts course has officially wrapped up!

I'd guest-lectured twice before in Soda's rigging course, but running an entire course on my own was a first — no exaggeration, I was nervous every single session. Thankfully Soda had my back, and the students were so kind and understanding with all their gentle reminders. I'm seriously so grateful to all of you!!!

I still remember day one — I was so nervous I kept stumbling over my words the whole class, and yet none of you seemed to mind at all QQQ It was the students' patience and Soda quietly backing me up every session that let me grow more confident as the course went on!

Looking back at how the course actually went versus how I originally planned it, they turned out pretty different — there were a few hiccups along the way, and at one point the server gave us grief too XD Thankfully Soda's years of experience meant we had an emergency fix ready and got through it.

As for the curriculum itself, some students felt we didn't spend enough time on rigging basics — since this was designed as an animation concepts course, I'd deliberately kept the rigging portion short, but I get it now: not knowing enough about rigging really does limit what students can do with animation. I'll definitely find a way to fix that for the next batch!

I also noticed that while I was demoing animation work, I sometimes got so focused I'd forget to explain what I was doing, or miss students' questions. I've been thinking I need to work on multitasking better — maybe practice narrating out loud while I work, like when streaming.

But the best part, hands down, was seeing everyone's final projects — such a wild variety of styles, it had me buzzing with excitement XDDD Genuinely the biggest reward of teaching this course.

Thank you all so much for giving me this opportunity and sticking with me through the whole first batch — this was one of the most valuable experiences of my 2023.
